andrew dice clay

And there is no longer any reason for me to watch the rest of this season.
See, I never got into Donald Trump's reality competition show "The Apprentice" and the whole "You're fired!" thing. Nothing against The Don, but it's not my cup of tea. (For the record, Diet Peach Snapple is.)
But when I saw Andrew Dice Clay, aka the Diceman, on the promos for the next edition of "Celebrity" saying "And you're Donnie Trump!", I knew it was worth at least two hours of my time Sunday night. (OK, more like 90 minutes since I started watching at 9:30 and DVR'd through the commercials.)
As expected, the Diceman was his usual self, wearing leather and being outrageous. That collection of sunglasses was priceless. Awful, but priceless. On four occasions, I thought he was playing De Niro playing Sam Rothstein at the end of "Casino."
He skipped out on making cupcakes with the rest of Team Kuto claiming he can't have his friends in Brooklyn see him wear an apron and baker's hat. Not for nothing, but I've eaten pastries from every borough and Brooklyn's ain't too shabby, so I'm thinking wearing an apron and baker's hat in Brooklyn isn't the worst thing in the world.
During the board room grilling, project manager Herschel Walker threw Dice under the bus. As did Clint Black and Brian McKnight. Jesus, this show is show remarkably over-produced and predictable. I wonder if it will get better the rest of the season. Of course, I won't stick around to find out.
Not even T-Boz is enough of a draw for me to keep throwing time at this show Sunday nights. And I've loved her since I first saw her and the rest of TLC rocking the baggy jeans and condoms on MTV's "Fade to Black" hosted by Todd 1. (Sorry, I just really wanted to write TODD.

See, I grew up listening to Diceman's tapes and HBO shows. (Yeah, I even bought "The Day the Laughter Died.") He was a polarizing figure, no doubt. As much now as back then. I, like most dudes in their late 20s and older, can recite his nursery rhymes without even thinking about Googling or YouTubing them. He was that good.
And now he's done. Snake eyes.
